With Honor Action Launches $200,000 TV Ad Campaign Thanking Senator Roy Blunt for Supporting AmeriCorps and Senior Corps

The Bipartisan CORPS Act will Expand National Service Programs in Rural and High-Poverty Communities

CHARLOTTE, NC – With Honor Action – a cross-partisan movement dedicated to promoting and advancing principled veteran leadership in order to reduce polarization – is running a new TV ad thanking Senator Roy Blunt for supporting national service programs, including AmeriCorps and Senior Corps. The need for more investment in national service opportunities is accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic and the CORPS Act for national service should be included in the next pandemic relief package.

Supported by 168 civilian and post-9/11 veteran service organizations, the bipartisan CORPS Act will provide 600,000 national service opportunities over a 3-year period to help the United States respond and recover from the pandemic. The CORPS Act will help support K-12 students and expand national service programs in rural and high-poverty communities. Currently, the CORPS Act is co-sponsored by 16 senators split evenly by party and has the support of a group of bipartisan, principled military veterans in the House of Representatives.

“With Honor Action applauds Senator Roy Blunt’s consistent leadership supporting funding for national service programs,” said Rye Barcott, With Honor Action CEO and Co-Founder. “Senator Blunt was right when he said, ‘Investing in national service programs is an investment in our students, communities, and young leaders. Programs like AmeriCorps, which funds City Year and Teach for America, instill in their participants a deep-seated appreciation for service and community.’”

The TV ad, titled “CORPS,” is running statewide on cable throughout Missouri beginning today. It can be viewed below.
