CHARLOTTE, NC – With Honor Action released an ad on June 2nd urging the U.S. government to protect Afghan interpreters who served alongside the U.S. military in Afghanistan. The ad features veterans Rep. Jason Crow, Rep. Peter Meijer, Medal of Honor recipient and With Honor Action Advisory Board member CPT (Ret.) Florent Groberg, all of whom served in the Global War on Terrorism.
“Thousands of Afghan interpreters served alongside the U.S. military and played a pivotal role in our mission. As the U.S. withdraws from Afghanistan, they deserve our protection,” says With Honor Co-Founder and CEO Rye Barcott. “Interpreters often wait years for their Special Immigrant Visa to come through while they fear for their lives and the lives of their families. As the Biden administration draws up their plans to bring the U.S. military out of Afghanistan, we urge them to remember the incredible sacrifice Afghan interpreters made. We cannot leave them behind.”
With Honor Action is a cross-partisan movement focused on supporting military veterans who want to work across the aisle and put principles before politics while serving again in Congress. With Honor Action’s advisory board includes post-9/11 veterans and Gold Star family members — Chris Howard, Ryan Manion, and Medal of Honor Recipient Florent Groberg — as well as prominent American leaders such as Secretary Robert Gates, Senator Tom Daschle, Admiral Michael Mullen, Michèle Flournoy, and David Gergen.
With Honor Action is a 501(c)(4), which serves as the organization’s policy and social-welfare arm. With Honor has an affiliated federally registered “super PAC” called With Honor Fund.
